Custom Milling & Consulting LLC (CMC), headquartered in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania USA, designs and manufactures an innovative line of process equipment for the mixing, milling and blending of wetted materials, such as horizontal media mills, basket media mills, planetary mixers, ram presses and other milling machines, for customers in Brazil and throughout the world.

Wet milling processes can be applied to a variety of materials, including:

  • Adhesives and Sealants
  • Agricultural chemicals for herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers
  • Class and Ceramics, technical and decorative
  • Confectionary and Food Seasonings
  • Dyes and Pigments
  • Electronic materials, e.g., conductive sealants and semiconductor materials
  • Inks, e.g., gravure, flexographic, conductive and security
  • Metals and Minerals
  • Nanomaterials
  • Paints and Coatings, industrial and marine
  • Personal care products and color cosmetics
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Plastics and Polymers

Wet milling can achieve ultrafine particle sizes that are simply not possible with dry milling/dry grinding due to limitations caused by the nature of the process.

The use of specially engineered equipment is required to process the mixture of materials in a liquid medium or “slurry”. Wet milling is a more energy-intensive, labor-intensive process, but the process can break a product down into more components, and into finer particles, allowing you to produce a greater variety of byproducts that can generate additional revenues.

CMC has applied our 25+ years of expertise in process engineering and dispersion technology to the manufacturing of process machinery that can be tailored to a customer’s specific needs.

For example, our CMC Supermill PLUS™ horizontal media mill is equipped with the latest milling technology and pioneering design features. It is efficient, flexible and economical for the most demanding applications.  It offers large screen separation for media sizes down to 0.1mm and as large as 4.0mm. The flexible process design allows for discrete pass, high flow re-circulation and cascade milling.

Also available is the CMC Duplex Supermill PLUS II which is designed with two chambers on one common frame and offers one of the most productive and efficient ways to address difficult custom processing applications. Basket style media mills have been the salvation of small batch, rapid changeover industries such as the ink dispersion industry, and the CMC Batch Mill line is a great example of this milling platform.

It offers efficient, one tank milling of a wide range of formulations along with full operator control of both the agitator speed and the milling shaft speed. And the CMC Double Planetary Mixers are the ideal choice for mixing and kneading viscous pastes, gently blending shear sensitive formulations or drying and granulating powders.

Our advanced R&D laboratory, warehouses, drying and milling capacities, logistics and quality control have given CMC the competitive advantage in the marketplace.
