Custom Milling & Consulting LLC (CMC), is an industry leader in wet milling technologies headquartered in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania USA.

We design and manufacture a variety of milling machines for customers in India and throughout the world who require finer particle sizes, cleaner dispersions and higher product quality in their manufacturing processes.

Wet milling can provide innovative processing solutions for many industries such as the automotive, agricultural, pharmaceutical, paints and coatings, ceramics, ink, dye, pigment, marine, specialty chemical and food seasoning industries, to name a few. In general, dry grinding will achieve particle sizes of 3 to 5 microns. Milling to smaller sizes requires wet milling. Smaller is better today, and the trend is to produce nanoparticles.

CMC manufactures multiple mills, mixers and high-speed dispersion units that can be customized and fine-tuned to fit every situation. The CMC Supermill PLUS™ horizontal media mill features the latest milling technology and cutting-edge design features. This media mill is an efficient, flexible and economical workhorse that is suited to the most demanding applications.

Its sibling, the CMC Duplex Supermill PLUS II, is designed with two chambers on one common frame and offers one of the most productive and efficient ways to address difficult custom processing applications.

And our CMC Batch (Basket) Mill offers efficient, one tank milling of a wide range of formulations, due to its dual shaft/dual speed control configuration.  It has the flexibility to run media sizes as small as 0.5mm, 2.5mm, or larger if required.

Also included in our line of products is the CMC Double Planetary Mixer which is ideal for mixing and kneading viscous pastes, gently blending shear sensitive formulations, or drying and granulating powders. The unique design results in superior mixing, kneading, and dispersion.

Mixed materials can be discharged from the mixing tank by means of a Ram Press, which uses a close-clearance, sealed follower plate technology on a double acting hydraulic piston to press the materials from the tank. The CMC Double Planetary Mixer is particularly useful in applications such as thick film inks, dental pastes, and potting and encapsulation products.

One thing to consider as you think about investing in the latest milling technology is that wet milling produces a greater variety of profitable by-products from your material. A good example is the production of ethanol from corn. Wet milling/grinding can break the corn into its four main components: starch, germ, fiber, and protein.

The germ can be sold for corn oil; germ and fiber can be sold for use in livestock feed; excess starch can become high fructose corn syrup; and CO2 gas that collects during fermentation can be sold for carbonation to dry ice and drink manufacturers. Thus, wet milling can generate a substantial amount of additional revenues, offsetting the cost of the equipment.

CMC is committed to helping you find the most energy- and time-efficient process for your manufacturing needs.
