Since the early 1800’s people have been using grinding mills to manufacture their products and reduce particles in a liquid medium. As technology developed and advances in machinery were invented so did the capabilities of grinding machinery to handle products with a high viscosity, or very abrasive materials.
Custom Milling & Consulting LLC, (CMC) has been manufacturing wet grinding mills for more than a decade and continues to grow. We use the latest technology available to manufacture our machines and customize them to our customer’s specifications. Our staff of engineers and technicians has years of experience in this specific industry.
What do Grinding Mills do?
The purpose of a grinding mill is to take a liquid material or slurry and process it with a piece of machinery that is designed to take agglomerates and break them apart. Or they take particles that are large and shear them down to submicron levels to produce an end product.
CMC offers horizontal media mills, high shear dispersers, batch mills, and mixers. Each machine is built as it is commissioned and customized for the customer. The equipment can be fitted with different materials of construct such as urethane, stainless steel, silicon carbide, or nylon. It will all depend on the type of product you are grinding and the cost of materials. We can manufacture lab size machines for small batches to equipment that can process more than 500 liters of product.
Our customers have the ability to test out our equipment before they move forward in investing in a large piece of machinery.
Our Pilot Lab is equipped with every piece of equipment we manufacture.
Lab testing procedure:
- Signed non-disclosure agreement by both companies
- Product information
- Completed lab evaluation form
- Raw material provided to CMC facilities prior to trial run.
- Representative from you company present if possible
After the test has been completed we will record all the data that was obtained during the testing. Our lab has a Horiba and Beckman-Coulter particle analyzers to test the result of the test. All the forms, documents and results will be sent to the customer for their records and review.
