Custom Milling and Consulting LLC, in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania USA, has more than 25 years of expertise in grinding, milling, micronization, emulsification, and de-agglomeration.

In addition to the manufacture of state-of-the-art milling machines for Argentina and customers around the world, we also provide toll processing, or contract manufacturing, services for nanomaterials and ultra-fine particle size reduction in the automotive, agricultural, pharmaceutical, ceramics, paper coating, power and electronics, specialty chemical and various other industries.

Choosing the right media mill for your application is very important and vital to your success.

Horizontal media mills, submersion-type basket media mills and high-shear dispersers are used for the grinding of wet applications for particle size reduction. In the past, ball mills and attritors with large balls were used to process batches for long periods of time. Production jobs often had to run overnight or for several days because of the slow speeds of the equipment.

As the demand for finer and finer particle sizes grew, smaller media was employed, but reductions in bead mass alone created other issues such as floating and hydraulic packing, and older, slower equipment could not produce enough energy to accommodate more demanding dispersion and grinding applications.

CMC has solved the problem of particle size reduction with our CMC Supermill PLUS™ horizontal media mill.  Equipped with the latest milling technology and innovative design features, it is ideal for paints, inks, ag-chem products, pigment dispersions, liquid colorants, textile dyes and chemicals. It is flexible, economical and offered in a variety of sizes and construction materials to meet your process needs.

An adaptation of this successful design is the CMC Duplex Supermill PLUS II which has two chambers on one common frame and enables two stages of grinding in one continuous pass. The product passes through the first chamber and directly into the second chamber without the need of a surge tank or separate feed pump.  And CMC Double Planetary Mixers are the ideal choice for mixing and kneading viscous pastes, gently blending shear sensitive formulations or drying and granulating powders.

For small batch, rapid changeover industries like the ink dispersion industry, we manufacture the CMC Batch (Basket) Mill which offers efficient, one tank milling of a wide range of formulations because it has a dual shaft/dual speed control configuration.

Operators command full control of both the agitator speed and the milling shaft speed to achieve the perfect setting for his or her specific formula rheology. Various slot openings on the easy to change baskets make the machine flexible enough to run media sizes as small as 0.5mm, 2.5mm, or larger if required.
